The world of Boca experienced another troubled morning. The news of the day says that Sebastián Villa has a knee injury and, in addition to missing the Superclásico next Sunday, 11 September, he would be off the pitch until next year.
Yesterday the Colombian, a key piece of the Ibarra scaffolding, was tested for a knee joint disorder. There, doctors from Boca observed a tear compromising the meniscus. The solution seems to be to clean the affected area, which implies moving into the operating room and until 2023.
Thus, the Boca coach suffers a new victim in his striker, which is added to that of Exequiel Zeballos who sustained a serious fracture to the tibia in the Copa Argentina match against Agropecuario de Carlos Casares.
Villa’s intervention would take him off the pitch for at least a month and a half, so not only would he miss the match with the River but would never return to the field during the current championship which will end on 23 October.
