A group of residents of the Miami Gardens neighborhood, where the event will be held, led by former county commissioner Betty T. Ferguson, are seeking to prevent the race weekend’s presentation because of the noise it will generate and, according to to him, it will be tolerable.
The noise level would cause severe disruption and physical harm to Miami Gardens residents, the suit says.
According to an estimate, the event will create noise of up to 97 decibels within a radius of 4 km (2.5 miles) around the Hard Rock stadium where the track was drawn.
Lawyers for both sides believe Judge Alan Fine should not decide the case until the city itself decides whether or not to grant F1 a special event permit.

Alan Fine said he will make a decision on the case on Monday (April 18).
The Miami Grand Prix is fast approaching. It will take place from May 6 to 8, just after the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
