The judge of Lomas de Zamora has decided to suspend the oral test of the Boca footballer Sebastián Villa this Friday scheduled for this Monday, September 19, as part of the complaint for sexual abuse and gender-based violence that her former partner had filed Daniela Cortes.

The defense of the Colombian player of Boca requested a psychological assessment from the complainant, but Cortés did not appear. “If not done, it may affect the right to defense in court”they confirmed a Clarione from the player’s environment.

The appraisal must be carried out in person and Cortés did not attend the appointment, therefore the Corrective Court 2 of Lomas de Zamora, in charge of Claudia Dávaloshas decided to suspend the process pending the completion of the appraisals and to set a new date.

Villa is accused in this case of minor injuries aggravated by the bond and of having mediated gender-based violence and coercive threats against ex-partner Daniel Cortés, carried out in April 2020.

The prosecutor had asked for an abbreviated trial with a suspended sentence of two years. But, after a series of appeals, the date for the judicial process was finally announced on 19, 20 and 21 September, now suspended.

The first complaint against Sebastián Villa

The Boca attacker was criminally denounced by Cortés on April 28, 2020. At that moment, the woman disseminated images of the violence suffered through social media.

In one of the videos posted by Cortés which showed his own images, visibly beaten, he recounted several violent events experienced alongside the footballer, whom he described as “a molester, both physically and psychologically”.

First, Boca had separated him from their professional team. But shortly after, Villa rejoined the team and started most of the games. Currently, the Colombian footballer is recovering from surgery on one of his knees.
