Spring day will be experienced in a special way in Núñez. The Monumental will be packaged again, but this time the fans’ flowers will run out Leonardo Ponziothe most successful player in the history of River, with 17 titles, which this Wednesday evening will have its well-deserved farewell game. The meeting will face the winning teams of the Libertadores 2015 and 2018. It will also feature the footballers that the Santa Fe native has had as teammates in his career and also with personal friends of the winner.
But there will be many more guests. Not only the former companions of Pontius. Plus, Santa Fe soccer friends, River glories, motorists, polo players, tennis players and even actors. The list is large and varied.
The tribute match will have to face winners of the 2015 and 2018 editions of the Libertadores and other River idols and friends of Leo (the teams are not yet confirmed) such as Enzo Francescoli, Beto Alonso, Marcelo Gallardo, Ariel Ortega, Hernán Díaz, Fernando Cavenaghi, Leonardo Astrada, Andrés D’Alessandro (traveled especially for this match), the current squad of the First Division and Ignacio Scocco.

Two hours later, from 8:30 pm, the best of the event will begin with the guidance of Matías Martin. The stars will take the field at 9pm and after the game Leo will grab the microphone to talk to the fans and everyone about the River, before a closure that promises several surprises.
The production of the event, which is marketed under the name of ‘Captain Eternal, goodbye 2022‘, is responsible for WFG, Argentina’s leading sports show production company. In addition to the match, the show will feature live music, fireworks and light shows.
Fans not present at the Monumental will be able to follow the broadcast of the event from 20:30 on Star +.
