Statuses occupy for many an important place when communicating Whatsapp. So that more and more users turn to this feature, promises Meta make them more attractive with the possibility of combining them with voice messages.
According to WABetaInfo, key to anticipating the next launches of the messaging service, the first indications of this novelty which indicated the possibility of record voice messages in states now it will be official. At least for some users who have the latest beta.
Version 2.23.2.8 for the Android operating system, currently in testing (beta), already integrates the ability to create voice notes among the tools for creating states. This is an extra step so that ends up reaching all users sooner rather than later.
WhatsApp: how to add voice notes in the States
The chosen interface, at least from what was announced by WABEtainfo in its latest beta, is the same one leaked a few months ago.
Basically, it is accessed from the “States” tab by clicking on the microphone icon, which is the one that receives the news, leaving the well-known pencil icon for text states and the camera icon for adding photos or videos.
Already within the recording tool we find possibilities similar to that of voice notes in chats, only that the audio cannot exceed 30 seconds. However, they allow, for example, to play the voice note and even discard it before uploading it.
It should also be said that, at least from what we have seen in the screenshots, it is also possible to customize the background and add other textual elements and emojis. The voice note will appear in the middle with its usual appearance, with the rest of the people having to press the play button to start playback when they see the status.
At the moment, WhatsApp has not specified when this feature could reach all users who are in the beta and when it did the same with the stable version, for both Android and iOS devices.
In any case, everything indicates that the arrival of this new function would materialize in the coming months and, although it does not attract the attention of many, there is no doubt that it will be one of the disruptive novelties within the messaging app in the 2023 after implementing Proxy connection a few weeks ago.
Friend mode and edit messages
Also, the messenger prepares changes for this 2023. One of them is the “companion mode”.
This feature, which has been tested by Android devices under the name of Companion Mode, would allow you to share an account between more than one device, to use the same account without the need for both to share the same phone number.
One of the most interesting is the one that allows you to connect the tablet to WhatsApp. At the moment, according to the WABetaInfo website, only a sample of a temporary logout screen has been developed that indicates the completion of the connection of one mobile device from another.
The option will allow users to delete the profile on a tablet or second mobile phone, from their primary device, which could become another security option in case of account duplication.
Another interesting option is edit messages.
If the message has not yet been seen, the sender will have the opportunity to edit the sent content. The deadline will not be indefinite as a maximum period of 15 minutes is foreseen. Once passed, the content cannot be changed.
Also, as a security option in this future feature, posts that have been edited will have an “Edited” label located at the bottom right of the text bubble.
There are currently no reports that users have been notified when the content of a message has changed or that they can see a history of changes, but these are features that could be developed in the coming months.
