A few weeks after the launch of the Galaxy S23, Xiaomi presented in Barcelona what will be its flagship for the 2023 season. It is the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which stands out for its renewed design and its photographic quality.
The team set out to bring back the premium design lines of the old guard. With a glossy ceramic finish, a camera module that sits on the right side, and a weight of almost 230 grams.
The Chinese company has defined its product as “the pinnacle of innovation” and accompanies it with Leica cameras, 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, 8 or 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM memory and UFS 4.0 storage. up to 512GB.
The strongest argument the 13 Pro offers is in its three lenses 50 megapixels which is incorporated in a quadrilateral-shaped module.
And although the cameras apparently protrude from the rear, the design is very balanced and the camera system is no more surprising than that of other terminals.
Thanks to the shutter speed, you don’t have to wait several seconds, especially in low light conditions, to see the image capture, as happens in other phones.
The brand has highlighted the capability of the portrait mode. This is due to its floating technology lenses that incorporate the Xiaomi 13 Pro telephoto sensor, with which a blur transition is achieved that offers the highest quality.
In this configuration, the one-inch main lens stands out, with the IMX909 sensor with “instantaneous” shutter speed. The camera comes complete with a wide angle and telephoto lens. The details of its three rooms are:
- Greater: 50.3 megapixels, f/1.9, 1 inch, 23 mm equivalent (wide), 1.6 µm photodiodes, OIS, laser autofocus.
- telephoto: 50 megapixels, f/2.0, equivalent to 75 mm (3.2X optical telephoto).
- ultra wide angle: 50 megapixels, f/2.2, 14mm equivalent, 115 degrees.
What’s new in Xiaomi 13 Pro
The screen remains unchanged from the previous year’s model. It repeats the 6.67-inch, LTPO OLED, Quad HD + resolution and compatible with Dolby Vision.
The panel introduces some changes. Maximum peak brightness is now 1,900 nits, with a “day mode” designed to absorb sharp spikes in brightness in direct sunlight.
At the biometric level, it offers the typical combination of high-end Androids: fingerprint reader under the glass and 2D facial recognition. Both the reader and the recognition system are very effective.
As for the battery, it repeats the 5,000mAh with a fast charge of 120W. On this occasion, the autonomy is accompanied by the four-nanometer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 microprocessor, which has solved the overheating problems.
Full charge can be completed in less than 20 minutes. Which represents a goal. As for fast charging, the 120W is turned off by default and will need to be enabled manually.
Also, add wireless charging and reverse charging. In the latter case, it is possible to set a limit on the supply of other products when the mobile phone is below a certain percentage. Its price is $1,400 internationally. It is not known when it will arrive in Argentina.
