Neuralinka biotechnology company led by Elon Musk, has announced a landmark breakthrough with the unveiling of its latest brain chip, called Blind sight.
This new device, according to the tycoon, has the potential to do so cure blindnessmarking an important stage in the search for innovative medical solutions.
Elon Musk has expressed his continued commitment to research and development in this field, constantly seeking to improve people’s quality of life through neurotechnology.
According to Musk himself, Blindsight represents a step forward on this path, with the potential ability to restore sight to those suffering from blindness.

To expand on this news, Musk stated this “The Blindsight implant is already being tested on primates”, specifying that the first features of this hardware would be similar “to the graphics of the first Nintendo game consoles”. However, over time, these benefits “will surpass normal human vision”.
With its inevitable dose of irony, the message concludes by stating that “no monkeys have died or been seriously injured by a Neuralink device!” This sentence is linked to the report published by the Doctors’ Committee for Responsible Medicine at the end of September 2023.
In it, Elon Musk and the company he ran were accused of sacrificing themselves 12 records due to complications resulting from the placement of implants in the brain.
Blindsight comes at a time when the company is at its best, after a video was released showing a 29-year-old quadriplegic patient moving a computer cursor over the chip. Telepathy implanted in your brain.
Telepathy, Neuralink’s first brain implant
I should mention that the Blindsight implant is already working in monkeys.
At first the resolution will be low, like early Nintendo graphics, but eventually it may surpass normal human vision.
(Also, no monkeys have died or been seriously injured by a Neuralink device!)

Blindsight’s announcement comes just after the success of the company’s first brain chip, called Telepathywhich has been proven to be effective in communicating between the brain and external devices.
On February 21 this year, Elon Musk surprised the world by saying that Neuralink had successfully placed one of its devices on a human.
“It appears that the patient has fully recovered (from the implant) with no adverse effects,” Musk said in an interview broadcast on his platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Since approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for chip implantation in humans in September 2023, Neuralink has worked to develop breakthrough technologies in the interface brain-machine.
Additionally, he can “move the mouse cursor around the screen just by thinking,” he revealed.
“We try to make sure that as many button presses as possible come from thought,” the tycoon added. “You want to have, obviously, more than just two buttons,” he said.
Neuralink’s breakthrough technology works through a device the size of five stacked coins that is inserted into the human brain through invasive surgery.
So far, brain implants have been developed in only one direction: from the brain outwards (generally a computer that processes signals), but the Neuralink project aims to be able to transfer information also in the other direction, to the brain.
