It’s D-Day for the long-awaited face-to-face return of Lan ETS, the largest Lan gathering on North America’s east coast, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. In the program: many prizes to be won, video game tournaments, kiosks and a festive atmosphere.
Lan ETS, created in 2002 on the initiative of three university students who are passionate about network games and information technology (IT), is largely a video game competition.
The organization expects about a thousand players to compete for prizes worth $ 20,000 from May 13 to 15.
Among the titles in this year’s competition (New window)let’s mention League of Legends, Guilty Gear: Strive, CS: GO, Smash Bros Melee at Ultimate, Rocket League, street fighter V at Valiant.
Many kiosks can be found at the École de technologie supérieure (ETS), including at the women’s electronic sports organization Mirage Scouts, which is planning activities with its teams to be broadcast live on their Twitch channel.
Other activities are also planned over the three days of festivities, including a talent show. On the site, there are also mentions of waterfalls (stunt), garments (cosplay) and a treasure hunt.
The LAN ETS will begin at 6 pm Friday, and the event will end at 5 pm Sunday. People who can’t travel can watch competitions online on Bell’s Twitch channel (New window).
