Nothing Phone (1) is now official: all about the new mobile with LED capable of breaking the market
One of the cellphones with the highest expectations of the year, as Clarín anticipated, was officially unveiled this week. The Nothing Phone (1) leaked data about its qualities until it was finally shown at an event held London. Now many of the specs are confirmed, such as its transparent case plus some surprises.
Nothing’s big bet is based on an advanced visual language, which was developed by the company and is unlike any other brand currently existing.
And it is that its design “goes beyond what is seen on the surface”. The company has chosen to build a smartphone with a transparent Gorilla Glass 5 back, which exhibits more than 400 components. At first glance, the wireless charging coil located in the central part stands out.
In addition, it has provided on the back of the device the so-called “glyph interface”: a series of LED strips consisting of more than 900 diodes, that run along the back and light up differently depending on whether you are receiving a call, receiving a notification or if the battery level is low.

The sustainable character of the Phone (1) is also appreciated in the use of recycled or ecological materials, as in the case of more than 50% of the plastic components of this equipment.
On an aesthetic level, the device it doesn’t differ much from an iPhone 12. The aluminum bezels have a smooth and matte finish, the camera is located on the back, with the two sensors positioned independently one above the other.
Judged only by its parts, the device it is in the middle range. With 120 Hz OLED screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G + processor tailored for this model and dual 50 megapixel camera. The device offers an IP53 splash resistance certificate. The fingerprint reader is located below the screen and has a dual stereo speaker.

No Telephone (1). The back is transparent and comes with configurable LED lights. $ 500.
Its battery has a capacity of 4,500 mAh and, thanks to the 33 W fast charging system, the device can be charged up to 50% in about 30 minutes. To do that, yes, you’ll need to use a Quick Charge 4 compatible charger, and Nothing has decided not to include it in the box with the device.
At the software level, Carlo Pei and the company seems to have learned their lesson after the move one moreand they decided to give the user what they ask for: a clean user experience, very close to Android “stock”, but with some additions and features that really add value.
Nothing explains that there is no bloatware – unnecessary apps pre-installed – and it will keep an ecosystem open. At the level of updates, we will have a guaranteed three years of system updates and four years of security patches, every two months.
Nothing has partnered with other companies for quick connection of devices, starting with Tesla, where the user will be able to unlock the doors, turn on the air conditioning, see the remaining kilometers and more.
No Phone (1): release date and price
Sales of Nothing Phone (1) will begin July 21 in more than 40 countries. The model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB (only in black), will cost $ 470while the 256 GB will cost 500 dollars, and will also be available in white. A third model, in both colors, will offer 12GB of RAM and a capacity of 256GB for $ 550.
Doing so in Argentina, for now, will depend on private importers or international shipping platforms.
