Netflix has promised no less than 50 mobile games available on Android and iOS for all its subscribers by the end of the year. And this, even if its service is not as dynamic as the video streaming giant would have hoped. Less than 1% of their subscribers would have taken advantage of the offer. But nothing to lose hope: the Californian firm continues to offer new games.
A Netflix game for Netflix fans
On August 23, Netflix introduced Netflix in the lead!available now for free to all Netflix subscribers, who can download it from the mobile app or search for it on the Play Store as the App Store.
This is a mobile game of imitation and charades based on the iconic Netflix series and shows such as The Bridgerton Chronicle, Squid Game, Stranger Things or the documentary chef’s table and even the specialized account GEEKED from Netflix. Players must guess the word on another player’s forehead within the time limit.
No less than 28 themes inspired by the star content of the SVoD service are offered. You have to find characters or stories as well as works of science fiction, actions, sequences that have become cult, expressions… all of this through mimicry or using clues.
With this new title, Netflix reinforces the consumer and family touch of its mobile games offered since the official launch of the Netflix Games space in the app last year.
There are now over 25 titles available at no additional cost or advertising, including several around Strange things. Netflix intends to attract casual players to offer additional content included in the subscription. It’s also a way to engage your mobile audience longer when they’re not watching your movies and shows.
To attract more experienced players, the platform has offered studios such as Night School or Next Games, in charge of designing their next in-house games. It also announced last month the future arrival of titles that also made console gamers happy like Spiritfarer, Raji; an old epic enhanced edition either Kentucky Route Zerohighly acclaimed indie games upon release.
