The traditional competition of Tarragona Castle was chosen as the winner by a team from the city of Vilafranca, who managed to erect a 13-meter-high human tower. The incident took place last Sunday (4) in Spain.
According to the Spanish newspaper El País, in its 28th edition, the event gathered around 11,000 spectators. The program took place two years after the break due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
In total, 42 groups argued over who would reach the highest height. The winning team was awarded 16,000 Euros (equivalent to R$81k).
The competition, which has been held every two years since 1972, is considered to be “the biggest castle show in the world”. Inspired by the circus act “Castells” that appeared in 1902. For the first time in 2022, a foreign team, Xiquets, also had China’s participation.
