A suspected serial killer is wanted by the police in Stockton, California (USA). According to officials, at least five people were killed in similar scenarios within six months.

According to The Washington Post, investigations show that all the cases are linked, causing police to assume it was a serial killer. All victims were shot, always at night or at dawn.

Five men were killed in Stockton between 8 July and 27 September. None were stolen, and police said the victims did not appear to be linked to drugs or gang violence.

“By definition, these gunshots are a series of murders, and so we believe we may have a potential serial killer. That’s how we’re going to treat him,” said Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden.

Police are investigating whether the two cases in April 2021 are linked to the five murders. A man was shot dead in Oakland on April 10, the only case ever identified outside of Stockton. Also a woman who was shot in the city six days later but survived.

In his statement, McFadden told police he saw a man about one meter tall, wearing dark clothing and a black “covid style” mask.

Another piece of evidence is that all victims in the 2022 cases are of Hispanic descent. However, McFadden points out that it has not yet been confirmed whether this is a coincidence or the killer’s method.

The victims of the San Joaquin County Forensic Institute are Paul Yaw, 35; Salvador Debudey Jr., 43; Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, 21; Juan Cruz, 52; and Lawrence Lopez Sr., 54.

Authorities warned residents to be careful, not drive alone at night, and stay in well-lit areas of the city.

Police also released a video about the possible serial killer:
