A tragic event occurred this Saturday in the city of Salto, Uruguay, where a man who had reports of domestic violence killed his 7-year-old daughter and then committed suicide.
It was located in the Albisu neighborhood, a rural area located about 10 kilometers from the city. There the local police were alerted of the situation by relatives and relatives of the 47-year-old man who reported that he had locked himself in a room next to the child and had not answered calls.
In addition, they reported that the attacker had a history of domestic violence and that 15 days ago he separated from his wife, with whom he had three children. Among them, the minor who kidnapped and then put an end to his life.
It was then that the police officers went to the scene to intervene and, breaking through a window of the house and forcefully entering the house, they found the scene terrifying: both he and the 7-year-old girl were dead.
In this regard, official sources indicated that the girl’s death was due to suffocation and that the man then hanged himself, which caused a sensation in the area.
The man had been denounced by his partner in previous instances for having exercised domestic violence. According to the police report to which the newspaper El Pais has access, it appears that he had been separated from the victim’s mother for at least two weeks.
Regarding these violent antecedents, it emerged that the last one was recorded in July 2021 and that no precautionary measures were in place at the time.
In her statement, however, according to primary police information, the woman indicated that with the killer “they had cohabitation problems, that her ex-husband got along very well with his children and does not understand what happened to him to make a that decision. “
