The federation, which brings together Argentine truck drivers, announced this Friday (15) that the strike that crippled the country’s food exports was “immediately” lifted after agricultural employers agreed to raise rates.

This settlement of the dispute took place after the intervention of the Ministry of Transport, and the parties agreed to make a 20% update in the tariff for the cargo service as a cost.

At a critical moment in the 2021-2022 harvest of Argentinean agriculture, the Argentine Transporters Federation (FETRA) has definitively resolved the strike of thousands of trucks on the side of the routes.

The suspension of the strike allows normal shipment of cargo from the world’s largest exporter of soy flour and oil and one of the first in wheat, soy and corn sales of approximately $35 billion annually.

FETRA said the deal includes new tariff negotiations in May and the Department of Energy’s commitment to “solve the diesel shortage problem”.

Truck drivers denounced the shortage of diesel and the surcharge for the rise in fuel value caused by rising international prices after the war in Ukraine.
