This Monday (14) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Kherson, a strategic city in the south of the country liberated after several months of Russian occupation, a source from the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told AFP.
According to videos posted on social media, Zelensky, dressed in military attire but without a helmet or bulletproof vest, walked the streets of the city alongside heavily armed security guards.
Residents in a building “Glory to Ukraine!” yell. The president and the security guards, as tradition dictates, “Thank the heroes!” they replied.
Russian troops left Kherson a few days ago after eight months of occupation, clearing the way for Ukrainian troops to enter the city on Friday.
