When Maggie, 27, and Matt McGaugh, 31, bought a house in Caddo Lake, Texas, they had no idea they’d end up with two houses and about $25,000 worth of “valuable collectibles and impressive furniture.” . left by the previous owners of one of the houses.

The McGaughs first bought a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home for $350,000 in April, with the intention of turning it into an Airbnb. Then they discovered the property next door was on the market.

“The front door of the house faces our Airbnb and we didn’t want strangers in, so we decided to pay a visit,” Maggie tells CNBC Make It.

The two-bedroom, two-bath home, which includes a shed, had been abandoned for more than 20 years, according to what a neighbor told him. Also, It was being sold fully furnished, which Maggie, a DIY influencer, took as a sign.

The couple bought the property for just under $200,000.

As they renovate and decorate, Maggie shares details on TikTok and gives her followers a sneak peek at some of the random finds around the house.

In July, she shared a viral clip of her and Matt finding a boat and lawn mower inside the shed.

Some of the valuables the couple found in the home include a $1,600 painting and a dining table that sells for at least $10,000.

Added to this are the objects found inside, of great value and which are part of the surprising scenery that the couple encountered. The owners estimated that what they found inside was worth around $25,000. between furniture and some collectibles such as pieces of art

The new owner shared some images via her TikTok account. At the bottom of the post, she emphasized how positive the experience was staying at the property. Despite being in good condition, both this home and the one they first bought underwent renovations to be in better condition at the time of listing on Airbnb. Both hope to have them up and running in a few months.
