Polish President Andrzej Duda met with his American counterpart, Joe Biden, on Tuesday, following reports that Russian missiles had fallen on Poland during Russia’s bombing of Ukraine, the Polish Presidency said.
“The conversation between the Polish and American presidents continues,” Jakub Kumoch, the Polish foreign minister for the presidency, said on Twitter.
Poland also stated that it has decided to increase the number of units in military readiness in this country, following the publication of reports on Russian missile attacks.
“It has been decided to raise the alert level of some combat units and other military personnel,” government spokesman Piotr Müller said after an emergency meeting of the National Security Council.
So far, NATO, the European Union, and even the Pentagon have not disclosed whether the missile was fired by Russia. All noted the need for an “investigation” into what happened.
