A 10-year-old boy from Pennsylvania, United States of America, managed to evade kidnapping with a daring strategy. He was walking home from school in Pottstow when a woman followed him on November 11, according to ABC. Finally, he asked a woman to act like his mother.
Sammy Green said the woman tried to lure Sammy to a nearby grocery store. “‘I’m going to Wawa, are you going there? What are you going to do in Wawa? Where is your family?’
Because the fourth grader didn’t know the woman, Dani Bee entered the Funky store and spoke to a cashier named Hannah. She asked the 17-year-old to act like her mother.
Security footage showed the woman standing at the store’s door as if waiting for Sammy.
Hannah then calmly walks towards the entrance, gets between Sammy and the woman, and locks the door.
“I’m so proud of him,” store owner Dani Small told ABC 6. “Hannah is 17. She did everything right.”
Sam’s father said he was relieved that his son followed the advice he had given him earlier on what to do in the same scenario.
“I cried every time I watched the video when I saw my son staring and scared for his life,” said Sam Green.
According to ABC 6, police managed to track down the woman involved and she is currently receiving mental health care and no formal charges have been filed.
