A Mexican woman is murdered and her organs stolen after traveling 4,000 km to Peru to romantically meet a man she met online.
Blanca Arellano, 51, was a Mexico City resident and started an online relationship with Juan Pablo Jesus Villafuerte Pinto, 37, a student of medicine and biotechnology. According to Argentine newspaper Infobae, the two met on a gaming app and had been in an online relationship for several months.
Villafuerte invited the Mexican woman to visit him in Lima so they could get to know each other better. Blanca Arellano accepted the offer and boarded the plane to meet her boyfriend.
After spending a week getting to know the city with Villafuerte and telling her niece she was in love with him, Blanca disappeared before her family could reach her.
After a few days with no news, the Mexican’s relatives became alarmed and asked the authorities for help in launching a search operation.
The victim’s niece, Karla Arellano, had spoken to him before she disappeared and found it strange that her aunt had suddenly not responded to her messages and calls.
The young woman used social networks to report the incident and ask people for help in finding her aunt.
“I never thought I’d end up in this situation. Today I’m asking for support and publicity to locate one of the most precious and important people in my life. My aunt Blanca Olivia Arellano Gutiérrez disappeared on Monday, November 7 in Peru. She is of Mexican descent, we fear for her life,” the woman wrote. on Twitter.
Karla also detailed how she came into contact with Juan Pablo Villafuerte, who had an affair with her aunt, and interrogated her for possible clues to his whereabouts.
The Peruvian told Karla that her aunt was bored with her because she couldn’t give her the lifestyle she wanted. According to the student, the woman ended the relationship and decided to return to Mexico.
However, on November 9, Peruvian authorities announced that the head of a woman with a deformed face was found on a beach near a house belonging to Villafuerte in Huacho.
A few hours later, police officers also found a severed finger with a silver ring, and then the rest of the body in the sea.
The researchers also discovered that the canal passes in front of the José Faustino Sanchez Carrion National University, where Villafuerte studied medicine.
After analysis, forensic experts also concluded that the victim’s face had been removed by someone experienced in surgical instruments. Traces of Blanca’s blood were also found in Villafuerte’s apartment.
After these clues pointed to Villafuerte, the police arrested him on charges of femicide, human trafficking and organ trafficking. According to investigators, the Peruvian killed Blanca and later removed her organs for sale.
Police said they would also post videos of the victim’s organs on social media a few days after his disappearance.
However, Villafuerte denies involvement in the crime and remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
