Woman recovers still working iPhone 460 days after loss at sea

A British woman has managed to recover her smartphone, which she lost during an exercise at sea more than a year ago. The device appeared in the sand on a beach in the state of Hampshire (USA) and surprisingly still worked.

According to the news of the American New York Post newspaper, 39-year-old Clare Atfield lost her iPhone while rowing on the beach of Havant, where she lived in the USA, on August 4, 2021. She fell off the board at one point and lost her cell phone, which quickly disappeared into the water.

He had convinced himself that he would never get the device back. However, 460 days later, Clare contacted a dog walker and told the British woman that she found the iPhone in an area near where she lost her cell phone more than a year ago.

After receiving the device, he realized that his back was broken, but despite this, the device was still working. The British woman believes this is possible thanks to the protective case that insulates the iPhone from salt water.

According to the New York Post, the walker was able to identify the owner of the cell phone, thanks to a credit card from Clare and another health card from her mother, which was left with the device inside the protective case. With this, he was able to communicate with the woman and return the iPhone.
