At least four people were killed in a hotel in Mogadishu, which has been the scene of attacks by extremist al-Shabab fighters since Sunday night, Mohamed Dahir, a security forces commander, told AFP this Monday (28).
“The terrorists have been locked in a room in the building and the security forces are about to quickly finish the operation against the criminals,” Dahir said, without revealing who the victims were.
On Sunday night, a police spokesperson announced the attack and the rescue of many people.
“A group of al-Shabaab fighters attacked a commercial hotel in the Bondhere area and security forces engaged in combat to eliminate them,” said Sadiq Dudishe, spokesman for the national police.
The agent reported that a large number of civilians and employees were rescued from the Villa Rose hotel, a very popular property among parliamentarians, in a deemed safe area of the capital, close to the presidential headquarters.
