Davis spoke to Variety about the makeup process while embodying the character. She clarified that the price of avoiding computer effects and making everything look better on screen is sometimes quite high.

“They put a fake plastic butt on me but it looked so bad I was like, ‘Let’s put it in a thong,'” she said of her experience backstage at Barbarian.

“I used Veet (hair remover) all over my body, which was a fun experience that I’ve never had before, but I asked them if I could leave my eyebrows unshaven because I would be covering them with prosthetics,” he added. .
