A police officer was killed and 10 injured in a suicide attack on a police station in Bandung, Indonesia’s West Java province, on Wednesday.
Suntana, the provincial police chief, who, like many Indonesians, has a single name, said the attack occurred “when a man tried to approach officers with a knife and suddenly there was an explosion”.
A police officer and the terrorist himself were killed in the explosion, and 10 people, including a civilian, were injured. After the attack, police found a second deactivated explosive device.
The reason for the attack will be the new penal code approved this week. A note calling for war on security forces and calling the law an “unsafe product” was found on a motorcycle driven by the terrorist, who was located close to the scene. chipboard????????
