Amelia Anisovych, the 8-year-old who became famous for singing “Let It Go” (Free I am), from Frozen, in a bomb shelter in Ukraine, was surprised by the cast of a musical of the Disney classic in the middle of the recordings of a show at Wembley, England.
It happened as the Ukrainian sang at Wembley’s OVO Arena in front of 8,000 people at the UK’s national lottery ‘Big Bash’ New Year’s Eve event.
Amelia was alone on stage when, unexpectedly, she was joined by her Samantha Barks Y Emily Lane, who respectively play the main characters Elsa and Anna in the musical Frozen. The girl couldn’t contain her excitement.
What is the “Big Bash”?
The National Lottery ‘Big Bash’ is a show that has already been taped and will be broadcast on New Year’s Eve on UK television (on ITV1 at 8.30am local, as well as ITVX and STV).
It will look at some of the key moments that “defined” the UK in 2022, as well as tributes to personalities who, according to the official website, “made an incredible difference this year thanks to the national lottery”.
In addition to Anisovych, they participate in the 2022 edition Westlife, Sugababes, Joel Corry, Tom Grennan, Raye, Adam Lambert, Katherine Jenkins OBE and Cirque du Soleil, among other artists. Presenters are Jason Manford Y Alesha Dixon.
“The National Lottery’s Grand New Year’s Party is an evening not to be missed. Think of it as one big house party with an amazing lineup and some hidden extras along the way! Dress comfortably from your home and come to the party with us – we have organized your evening,” said Alesha.
Amelia’s video
The viral video starring Amelia was released in March this year by the Indian journalist Ankita Jainand shows several Ukrainian refugee families in the room of what appears to be a bomb shelter.
At that moment, a little girl starts singing “I am free”, the main song of the Frozen soundtrack, the Disney film that tells the story of the princesses Elsa and Anna.
Gradually, the little girl’s voice began to attract the attention of everyone present, at the same time that a cell phone recorded it.
“A little girl in a shelter,” Jain tweeted. The video had nearly six million views in just over a day and a global reach.
So big that it even reached Elsa herself. Idina Menzel, the American actress who voices the Disney character in the film, shared the tweet with a message of optimism.
“We see you. Really, we are seeing you,” Menzel tweeted, quoting the video.
