The Super Bowl LVII venue will be the massive State Farm Stadiumheadquartered in Glendale, Arizona, and home to the NFL’s Arizona Cardinalswhere the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs will define the new champion on Sunday, February 12.
It was May 23, 2018 when the National Football League decided that the spectacular stadium would host the game that defines the champion of the season for the third time in its history.
The first time it hosted a Super Bowl was February 3, 2008, when the giants of New York they defeated the New England Patriots 17-14. Second, the “Pats” beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 in 2015.
State Farm Stadium was opened on August 1, 2006 and has a capacity of 63,400 spectators, expandable to 73,719 supporters.
Its retractable roof and air conditioning make it one of the 10 most impressive stadiums in the world, according to a ranking by the magazine Work week.
It is not the first time that State Farm has opened its doors for this event, as in 2015 it hosted the Super Bowl in which the Patriots triumphed over the Seahawks.
Before that, in 2008, they hosted the 42nd edition of the biggest party in American football, when the Patriots faced the Giants, won by New York. No doubt it is a venue for sport, as it has hosted other competition events as well.
The impressive stadium not only hosts sporting events, but also they also get great musical performances. Thus the Rolling Stones, U2, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and The Weeknd were seen parading.
The venue has a capacity of 63,400 attendees and with the option to expand to 73,719. It also has premium spaces which are 88 lofts and 7,505 club seats.
Its design is the work of architect Peter Eisenman and the companies HOK Sports and Hunt Construction Group. The stadium became the first sports facility with a retractable natural grass playing surface in North America and with the first fully retractable roof.
But the NFL is already thinking about the Finals to come. Therefore, Super Bowl 58 and 59 already have defined venues. Super Bowl LVIII will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be the first time for the Raiders’ new home.
Super Bowl LIX will be played at Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Superdome’s owners are due for renovations to raise standards of comfort and luxuries, the site reports TUDN.
