Gigantic boom in TV sales, cheaper ticket at $4,000 and 1,450 million chicken wings: the Super Bowl never ceases to amaze

While foods like chicken and guacamole had a drop in price from last year, beer, the US drink of choice on Super Bowl Sunday, had an 11% increase over this same period in 2022, when it been sold for $17 a glass at the LA Super Bowl.

The ads, more expensive

Among the records to be set in Glendale is the astronomical price of television advertising, never so expensive.

If brands spent $6.5 million on their ads last year, this year they’re getting paid seven million for promotions of about 30 seconds.

Curiously, in an event marked by millionaire investments, on and off the field, the protagonists of the halftime show, this year singer rihannaThey are not paid for their performance.

Eagles and Chiefs have been in Glendale since last Sunday, where festivals and celebrations are held every day as a prelude to Sunday’s big event. It’s a huge business opportunity for restaurants and bars to maximize revenue and many of them invest in the hire extra workers to meet demand.

For them, the “Super Bowl Host Committee” signed an agreement with “Qwick” this year to meet the needs of restaurants while providing the opportunity for hundreds of cooks and waiters to work before and during the Super Bowl .

They ask us for people, cooks, waiters, collaborators. We’re doing a special job with the Super Bowl. We work a lot with the catering organisers, at the pre-match parties and also inside the stadium on match day,” Qwick spokesman David Stephan told EFE.

The company, which is based in nearby Phoenix, has an app that allows companies to post ads looking for skilled workers and professionals to apply for “on-demand” jobs. This is a very popular service in the US and ‘Qwick’ is already operating in 26 markets across the country.

And it is that if there is room for only 63,400 lucky people at State Farm Stadium on Sunday, millions of Americans will see the game on “Fox”.

The huge anticipation for the event also benefits the tech shops, which prepare specific marketing campaigns to increase sales during the week of the game.

“Big TVs for big events” (Big televisions for the big event), is one of the slogans used in the United States to promote special offers and convince users to increase the inches of their screens in view of the Super Bowl.

“This is a very special week for us. Every year our TV sales increase in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. We have special discounts and there is strong demand for 75 to 85 inch screens“, they tell EFE from the ‘Best Buy’ technology store.
