Without giving explanations, Joe Biden’s government had previously and temporarily closed the airspace above Lake Michigan. Subsequently, the Department of Defense confirmed that it was the sighting of another aircraft element, the fourth sighted in recent days in North America.

The surprise began this Sunday around 1:30 pm local time (3:30 pm in Argentina), when the United States Civil Aviation Authority (FAA) announced the temporary closure of the airspace above Lake Michigan. They justified it for reasons of “national defense”, albeit without details or an immediate pronouncement from the Pentagon.

An hour later, the same institution confirmed the reopening. “The FAA briefly closed a portion of the airspace above Lake Michigan to support the Department of Defense operations. The airspace has been reopened,” the entity said.

At the same time, across the border, Canada has also closed the space. The closure was established in the Tobermory area of Ontario.

Although the Pentagon has not yet officially issued, Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin aired a phone call received from the US Department of Defense. He then confirmed the military action.

“I just got a call from the Pentagon. Our military is a lot watch out for the object on Lake Huron. We’ll know more in the days to come, but for now, rest assured, all sides have been focused on it since it passed through our waters,” wrote the State House member from Michigan.

He later reported that the object was shot down by “US Air Force and National Guard pilots”.

It is the fourth object shot down in recent days

Sunday’s news comes after three flying objects, including one described by Washington as a Chinese spy balloon, were shot down over the United States and Canada in a week. The first of these took place on February 4, with the operation putting a strain on relations between Washington and Beijing. Then US forces targeted an object in Alaska. And finally, there was a similar episode in Canada.

As for the most recent crash, involving fighter planes, Justin Trudeau confirmed this Sunday that search teams were still working to recover the remains of the flying object in a remote area in the northwest of the country.

The premier added that the decision to shoot down the object was taken while flying over the Canadian territory of the Yukon, at an altitude of about 12,000 meters and 160 kilometers from the Canadian border with Alaska (USA), due to the risk that it posed for aviation.

“It was a threat to civil aviation and a potential threat to Canadians,” Trudeau explained. He operated a US F-22 fighter, which fired an AIM-9X infrared missile, along with Canadian CF-18 fighters and a CP-140 Aurora patrol aircraft, also from the Canadian Air Force.

Although Canadian authorities waited to tear down the object until it could be visually identified, the government has not yet provided any details about the artifact.

The airspace of the US state of Montana was temporarily closed on Saturday, but a fighter jet sent to investigate failed to identify a “flying object,” according to the military, who later acknowledged the alert was due to an anomaly. of the radar.

That version, however, has been denied in the last few hours by a Republican senator from the state of Montana. “I am in constant communication with NORCOM and they have just informed me that they are confident there is an object and it WAS NOT an anomaly. I am now awaiting visual confirmation. The safety of our nation is my priority,” said Matt Rosendale.

The US UFO hypothesis

Before the bomb was shot down on Lake Huron, the Democratic leader in the Senate offered the same explanation for the appearance of the precedent that the US government developed for the first UFO: that these are Chinese-directed bombs.

In an interview with the network abcSchumer revealed that President Joe Biden’s team thinks these last two objects were also balloons, “but much smaller than the first.”

The senator, informed of these objects by the White House national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said that the bombs flew at an altitude of 12,000 meters, representing a “danger” for commercial aviation.

Schumer stressed that until a few months ago the United States knew nothing about these balloons and assured that the US Army and intelligence are concentrated on gathering all the necessary information.

This adds to the official explanation, which pointed to Beijing as responsible for the object shot down earlier this month on the coast of South Carolina after crossing US territory from the northwest (it was first sighted in Montana) to the south- east, where it left the territory before falling into the sea.

In subsequent appearances, US officials have warned of a spy program developed by China, with actions on five continents.
