Shortly after visiting Kiev, the President of the United States, Joe Biden sent a message to Vladimir Putin assuring that “Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia.”
“Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia. Never!” Biden said from Poland, adding, “The autocrats understand only one word: no, no, no. You won’t take my country, You won’t take away my freedom, you won’t take away my future.”
The US president spoke from Warsaw shortly after his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin announced the suspension of the latest nuclear disarmament treaty both countries had signed.
In a fiery speech, Biden said so Putin thought he was “tough” but ran up against the “iron will of the United States”.
In response to the Russian president, who accused the United States and NATO of wanting to destroy his country, Biden was blunt: “The United States and the nations of Europe are not trying to control or destroy Russia. The West is not intends to attack Russia.”
The United States had spoken out against Putin’s announcement through its Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who called it “very irresponsible”.
It was Putin this Tuesday who further strained relations between the two countries by announcing the suspension of his country’s compliance with START III or New START.

He also accused the West of wanting to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia in Ukraine and end it “once and for all”. And he accused the United States and NATO of “rapidly deploying their secret military bases and biological laboratories near the borders” of Russia, of “dominating the theater of future military operations with maneuvers” and of preparing an “enslaved Ukraine for a great war.”
