Chinese President Xi Jinping vehemently criticized the US by directly mentioning it in an unprecedented manner, and Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang warned in his first press conference that if the US does not change its stance to the public, “conflicts and confrontations” will be inevitable. One after another, they openly reveal their antipathy toward the United States.
On the 7th (local time), CNN published an article conveying the remarks of President Xi Jinping and Qin Gang.
According to CNN, Xi said at a meeting with members of the National People’s Political Consultative Conference (PPPC) on the 6th, “(Over the past five years) Western countries led by the United States have suppressed and pressured us in all sectors, and our development has come before us.” I was in great trouble without it,” he said.
“The risks and challenges we face in the future are bound to grow and worsen. All citizens must work hard with the same idea to win a new battle. We were all on the same boat,” he emphasized.
In the meantime, Xi has avoided directly attacking the US openly and has used the phrase “Western countries” or “some developed countries.” Some analysts say that the specific mention of the United States has political intentions.
However, Xinhua News Agency-related reports in English did not include President Xi’s specific mention of the United States, only the expression “we must have the courage to fight as we face profound and complex changes inside and outside the country.”
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who until recently served as the Chinese ambassador to the United States and was reputed to be a prudent and competent diplomat, said at a press conference on foreign affairs at the National People’s Congress (NPC) on the 7th that the US made a “reckless gamble” against China, a superpower, and caused a “disaster”. CNN reported that he continued to make militant remarks, such as warning that this would happen.
Qin Gang said, “If the US continues to run on the wrong road without putting on the brakes, even guardrails will not be able to prevent it from going off the road, and conflict and confrontation will inevitably arise.”
CNN described China’s foreign policy over the next few years, accusing the US of escalating tensions and advocating closer China-Russia relations.
Qin Gang accused the US of overreacting to an “avoidable diplomatic conflict” over the interception of the Chinese reconnaissance balloon.
He also attacked that the US Indo-Pacific strategy is an attempt to build an “Asia Pacific North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)” that excludes (China) by creating an exclusive bloc that triggers confrontation, CNN reported.
“The real purpose of the Indo-Pacific Strategy is to suppress China. There must be no repeat of the Cold War in Asia, and there must be no war like Ukraine.”
He stressed that China-Russia relations “do not pose a threat to any country in the world, and no third party can intervene or alienate them,” CNN reported. “As the world becomes unstable, steady development of China-Russia relations is essential,” he said.
Qin Gang also called for the US to “not interfere in China’s internal affairs,” calling the Taiwan issue “the political foundation of China-US relations and the first line of prohibition that must never be crossed,” according to CNN.
“Why does the US emphasize that it respects Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, but does not respect China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in relation to Taiwan? Why does the US continue to sell arms to Taiwan while asking China not to provide arms to Russia?”
