According to a study published in the scientific Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, the fruit with the highest amount of antioxidants is the cranberry.

Blueberries have a great antioxidant power because they contain anthocyanins, a pigment that helps lower blood cholesterol, protects the heart and regulates blood pressure.

Furthermore, this fruit is rich in vitamins A, E, selenium and phenolic acids, provides fiber and is low in calories.

Eating blueberries helps the immune systemprevent chronic diseasesheart disease, Alzheimer’s and diabetes. It is also good for its protective effect on the brain.

This is a list of fruits with more antioxidant power According to the study published in that prestigious scientific journal:

  • apples: the highest concentration of antioxidants is found in the skin. They act as protectors of the heart and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.
  • Grape: They have a great antioxidant capacity, for example black grapes contain resveratrol. This compound works as a blocker of free radicals that damage skin cells.
  • Strawberries: the seeds are the carriers of the greatest amount of antioxidants. Rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins C, B2, B6, E and folic acid.
  • Peaches: its antioxidant properties stimulate the immune system and can inhibit the effects of bad cholesterol or LDL.
