After months of suggesting it, last November the former president (2017-2021) confirmed that he was starting the path to return to the White House and first become the chosen one of the conservatives, to then participate in the 2024 presidential elections.

He returned as a presidential candidate on the political front, a place he never really left, as he was neither isolated nor punished for being an accomplice in one of the most shameful scenes of American democracy, the storming of the Capitol.

Master evasion so far

Master of escapism, Trump he had so far managed to escape the numerous open cases against him, including the storming of the Capitol, one of the darkest episodes in the history of the United States, when thousands of his followers violently broke in to try to prevent the ratification of the electoral victory of the current president, Joe Biden.

this success, which resulted in 5 deaths and about 140 wounded officersIt looked like it would spell the end of a turbulent and explosive political career, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Trump has been accused of trying to buy porn actress Stormy Daniels’ silence to prevent her from going public about an alleged sexual relationship between them.

Total it has more than two dozen processes open for political, economic and sexual crimes, which could get in the way of their political objectives.

One of the most publicized causes, the investigation that the FBI is keeping open for allegedly taking confidential documents when he left the White House.

Trump also has lawsuits pending into possible tax crimes committed by the Trump Organization, investigations into matters related to its activities, for assaulting women or even due to problems with his own family.

And he is the only US president who has been impeached twice by the House of Representatives, for pressuring Ukrainian leaders to investigate Biden and for storming the Capitol. In both he was acquitted by the Senate.

Bad loser

Unpredictable and spontaneous, Donald Trump (New York, 1946) was the terror of the press during his administration for his propensity to make any major announcement without warning.

A few months after being expelled from Twitter after the events at the Capitol, in October 2021 he announced the creation of Truth Social, his social network, from which he encourages his followers and keeps the flame of his life alive. “Make America Great Again”the slogan by which his political movement, the MAGA, is now known.

Messaging like this has been king of the headlines for the past two years, with Joe Biden at the center of the bull’s-eye. True to form, Trump became the first outgoing president in 152 years not to attend the inauguration of his successor.

A particular detail that put an end to a presidency that divided the country and the world, like perhaps no other American president.

Driven throughout his life by a strong need for approval, the president gave his all in dozens of rallies during an intense electoral campaign in 2020, but failed to regain his popularity, weighed down by deaths from the pandemic, the crisis economic and a strong popular movement against racism.

He lost at the polls, but refused to accept the election result, carrying out an unsuccessful campaign of discredit that ended by force after the events on Capitol Hill.

Provocative

Since he came to power in January 2017, Trump has embraced provocation as a form of government and a tool of distraction, attacking the media and testing the country’s institutions, whose courts have filed hundreds of lawsuits against many of his policies.

According to one count of The Washington Postthroughout his term it has thrown around 30,000 lies or misrepresentations. Under the slogan “America First,” Trump reversed relations with Washington’s allies like Canada and the European Union, waged a historic rapprochement with North Korea that later stalled, and turned China into his own worst enemy with a war spot.

His rise to power was a reaction to the government of Barack Obama, whose legacy he worked to destroy, even if he didn’t achieve his goal of repealing “Obamacare” healthcare reform.

Its other stellar promise, the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico, has been partially fulfilled, at a time when there have been significant setbacks in terms of immigration.

From debtor to millionaire

Born into a family descended from German emigrants, Donald John Trump graduated in Finance and Economics at the age of 28 he took over the real estate company by his father and then enter the casino sector, with a growth marked by debts.

Producer of the Miss Universe and Miss America beauty pageants, Trump launched his own television show, ‘The Apprentice,’ last decade, something that fueled his fame and boosted his presidential run.

The billionaire has been married since 2005 to Slovenian model Melania Knauss, with whom he has one son. He had previously dated Ivana Trump, who recently passed away and with whom he had three sons, and actress Marla Maples, with whom he had a daughter.
