The Federal Police of Brazil will investigate the actions of “Nazis and neo-Nazis” groups., after the violent attack on a kindergarten in the town of Blumenau in which four girls were murdered. Also under investigation is the assault of a teenager in a school in São Paulo which ended in the death of a teacher less than two weeks ago.
“I have already signed an order for the Federal Police start an investigation on Nazi and/or neo-Nazi organizations in Brazil, as there are signs of interregional action,” Justice Minister Flavio Dino said at a news conference.
The Brazilian official associated the increasingly frequent attacks on schools with “the proliferation of hate in society due to an unregulated Internet and irresponsible companies”.
Dino remarked that the idea of the “use of weapons” and the “ideology of death” is increasingly associated in networks from “Nazi or Neo-Nazi Groups”.
Dino’s decision coincides with the disclosure, last Sunday, of a report by the Globo network which revealed links between Brazilians and an international organization of white supremacy, located in the south of the country. And he associated these two attacks in educational centers with this type of organization.
The attack, the horror in the nursery
This Wednesday, a 25-year-old man with a criminal record entered an asylum armed with an ax and killed three boys and a girl and wounded four others between the ages of three and seven.
After the brutal killings, the attacker gave himself up to the authorities and right now, still detained and this Thursday it will be investigated again by Justice.
After the massacre perpetrated in Blumenau, the Brazilian government announced the creation of a working group to combat violence in schools: it offered 150 million reais ($30 million) to municipalities that want to strengthen security around schools.
An event similar to that of Blumenau happened less than two weeks ago in São Paulo. Even in a school.
There, a 13-year-old teenager stabbed a teacher to death and injured four other people.
According to official data published by the EFE agency, the attacks on Brazilian educational centers have already killed 40 students and teachers in the last 20 years.
