A former Ohio public school substitute teacher is accused of sexual assault after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old student.

According to an affidavit, Emma Delaney Hancock, 26 years old He is charged with soliciting or lewd or indecent acts toward a minor under 16, soliciting sexual conduct or communicating with minors through the use of technology, and obscene or indecent writing.

In November 2022, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation began assisting the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in their investigation of Hancock after allegations surfaced that he had sent nude photos to the student.

According to local media, the relationship between the 26-year-old woman and the student began in October 2022 when she wrote to the student asking for a copy of a school assignment, according to an affidavit obtained by News 9.

Soon after, the teenager sent her a shirtless photo of himself via Snapchat. Instead of ending the matter, the woman replied, “Are we sending each other half-naked pictures now?”

The teenager replied, “I don’t know, do I?” “Are you trying to make me lose my job?” Hancock reportedly said.

The two exchanged nude photos and sexually explicit videos. Later, the woman allegedly sexually abused the young man on at least two occasions.

According to the New York Post, one of the abuses occurred in one of the lockers in a Wellston Public School classroom during lunch. On that occasion Hancock kissed and fondled the student.

The scandal erupted in November, school district superintendent Mike Franz said when they received a complaint. Hancock was quickly banned from campus, and school authorities filed a complaint with the Court.

Because the woman was the daughter of Mayor Paul E. Whitnah and the wife of Police Chief Alfred Hancock, the case was turned over to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to avoid conflicts of interest.

The woman was charged with two counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communicating with a minor through the use of technology. In addition to these charges, Hancock faces two counts of lewd or indecent acts against a minor under 16. The teacher was released on $50,000 bail.

According to the New York Post, at least five other teachers were arrested that same week in the United States for sexually abusing students, in cases that occurred in schools in Kentucky, Arkansas, Iowa, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
