Green’s discharge

Green claimed the referees ejected him from the match for stepping on Domantas Sabonis’ chest “too hard”. “The explanation (which they gave me) was that I stepped on it too much,” he commented at the press conference after yet another defeat.

“They grabbed my leg. The second time in two games,” commented the pivot, referring to a similar incident (without leading to expulsion) which, as he assured, occurred in the first match with Malik Monk.

“I have to put my foot somewhere and I’m not the most flexible person, I don’t stretch that far,” he added of what happened with Sabonis. Green also criticized the umpires for doing nothing about those holds. “I guess grabbing the ankle is fine,” she joked.

The Sacramento Coach, Mike Brown, felt Green’s dismissal was fair. “He was a flagrant type 2, obviously. It will be interesting to see what the NBA does when it reviews the game.”. Though Green downplayed the moment she confronted some viewers: “I was just having fun. It was a fun game with a fun atmosphere to play.”
