The billionaire head of Twitter and Tesla has again expressed concern about the danger of artificial intelligence (AI), stating so has a “civilization-destroying potential”.

AI would see people as an interesting part of the Universe and would decide not to “annihilate humans”, according to Musk.

Musk said so on Monday supports government regulation of AI, even if it’s “no fun being regulated”. Once AI “can get the hang of it,” it may be too late to make regulations, Musk said.

“A regulatory agency needs to start with a group that initially seeks information about AI, then solicits industry input, and finally has a regulatory proposal,” Musk said.

The tycoon has created an artificial intelligence company X.AI based in the US state of Nevada, according to company documents.
