Ana and Daniel Parra have become famous in different countries of the world after revealing that, in addition to being a couple, they were half-siblings. Their history is written in Spain and has several particularities.
Ever since her father abandoned her, Ana has always known she had a brother. I didn’t know the name or age, nothing. But though she tried to forget him, she was always curious to find out who she was. So it was that at the age of 20 she contacted her father on Facebook and from there she managed to reach her son: Daniel Parra, who was 17 at the time.
At the time they were connected by the social network and decided to meet; both had a father in common, who had never introduced them. So things began to have a relationship like half brothers, until they discovered that there was something more between them.
Courtship arrived secretly, cohabitation arrived and children arrived. Of course, against any kind of criticism. The case revolutionized Spain and generated controversy.
“It’s curious that the people who criticize you are those who don’t know you. No one has come to us directly to insult us. But there are people who have written to us on the networks telling us that we will burn ourselves the hell,” says Ana. But they tried to take it with humor. “When we’ve gone to a communion or something at church, we always joke that we’re going to burn out,” Daniel comments between laughter.
Until now, the Spanish civil code prohibits marriage between direct relatives, despite the fact that incest has not been considered a crime since 1978. Therefore, they have declared that they want their history to be known so that the laws and the gaze change society. Moreover, they claim it “They don’t hurt anyone because they just love each other.”
According to Ana told in an interview with El Español published by TN, her mother told her that her father had started another family and had another son, which made her curious “in case one day she met him on the street “. So she decided to look for her father on Facebook and in this way she managed to find her brother, who she added through a fake profile on the social network.
In turn, Daniel had been told a similar story, where he was told that he had a sister on his father’s side from a previous marriage, but unlike Ana, the intrigue of meeting her never arose, as she had three other brothers. .
This way Ana added him to Facebook and they started talking. Between laughter and anecdotes, she confessed who she was and they met in person. “We hugged and started laughing. It was a very rare situation. It was a bit embarrassing, as we didn’t really know what to say,” the man confessed. As the months went by, they began to treat each other as friends, but both assured that they “never felt that fraternity of brothers.” The friendship grew from strength to strength until they kissed at a party.
“We tried to keep that sibling relationship, which is what the canons establish, but we didn’t feel like that. There was no brotherly feeling. I met a girl who told me she was my sister and that she had the same tastes as me and I had a lot of fun with her, but I couldn’t classify her as a sister,” Daniel explained.
After that first love encounter, both felt guilty because they knew that what their hearts dictated was not morally acceptable. But over time they let go and all their friends supported them which was crucial for the growth of the relationship.
The wedding would be the final step in formalizing the couple’s nine-year relationship. “Companies must move forward and not be anchored in traditionalisms. Not even homosexuals could get married and now they can. We love each other and that’s what should prevail. We do no harm to anyone. That’s why we want people to know our true story,” Ana said.
