In Taiwan, a Korean female tourist in her 30s is found dead at a local hotel. He said nothing while presenting himself to the local police.
On the 2nd, according to local Taiwanese media, Taiwan Alliance, Mr. A (32), accompanied by his older brother and a lawyer, attended the police station in Chenjin District, Kaohsiung City. He was wearing a black suit and covered his face with a hat, mask, and sunglasses. He was consistent in answering questions from reporters, such as “Did you murder your girlfriend?”
Taiwanese prosecutors are currently indicting Mr. A on murder charges and requesting an arrest warrant. Considering that Mr. A is a foreigner, the court granted bail on the condition of bail of 100,000 Taiwan dollars (about 4.4 million won). However, he was prevented from leaving the country due to an 8-month travel ban in Taiwan.
It happened around 1:30 pm on the 24th. A Korean woman, Mr. B (31), was the first to report that she was lying unconscious in a business hotel room in the Chenjin district of Kaohsiung, southern Kaohsiung. He was taken to the hospital but died.
A and B arrived in Taiwan on the 22nd for free travel and were scheduled to return on the 25th. In an investigation with the local police, Mr. A stated, “I fell asleep while drinking with my girlfriend in her room, but when I woke up in the morning, her girlfriend was not breathing in the bed.”
However, the possibility of murder was raised during the investigation. As a result of the autopsy on Mr. B, bruises were found on the head, arms and legs of the deceased, presumably from being hit with a blunt instrument or hitting a wall. Two bloodstains were found in the hotel room.
Mr. A raised suspicion that the fact that he hurriedly sent Mr. B’s luggage back to Korea the day after the incident was an act to destroy evidence. In this regard, Mr. A said, “I had already purchased a return flight ticket, and it seemed that I would not be able to handle the luggage when I was bringing the remains of my girlfriend who died later to my home country.” denied
Afterwards, Mr. B’s luggage was returned to Taiwan, and an investigation by the Taiwan Forensic Science Center is planned. Mr. B’s body will be handed over to his family after cremation.
Regarding this case, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The local investigative authorities in Taiwan are conducting a related investigation, and we are providing necessary consular assistance. .
