Florida’s undocumented immigrants are facing troubling restrictions. The reason is the passage of a bill by Congress on Immigration promoted by Governor Ron DeSantis and which is now pending implementation.

As a note from the Telemundo website recounts, the bill provides $12 million for DeSantis’s migrant relocation initiative.

It also expands requirements for companies with more than 25 employees to use E-Verify, a federal system that determines whether employees can legally work in the United States.

Another point is that it prohibits local governments from providing money to organizations that issue identity documents to people who are in the country illegally and invalidates out-of-state driver’s licenses held by unauthorized immigrants.

The next point mentioned in Telemundo’s note is that rIt will require hospitals that accept Medicaid-enrolled patients to include a citizenship question on intake forms, something critics say is meant to discourage undocumented immigrants from seeking medical care.

“The bill is politically motivated, and it is an anti-immigrant bill that will also affect and cause the deaths of undocumented immigrants,” said Democratic Representative Susan Valdes.

This approval comes after President Joe Biden’s administration announced it will send 1,500 troops to the US-Mexico border, after seeing a record number of people crossing the border.

Apparently, this regulation could come into force on July 1st.
