This publication went viral and managed to exceed three million views, so it was not surprising that help arrived early. It was the director of an animal shelter who advised to take Rex to a specific center called Faunivet, where they could try to save the animal.

Nacho Martín, owner of the Faunivet Clinic, in Vinaros, Spain, he contacted Damián and explained that he could help but they needed to look into him first.

Without hesitation, he and Rex covered the 900 km that separated them from the miracle. After a complicated three and a half hours in the operating room, the veterinary team managed to remove the entire tumor and reconstruct his snout.

The dog endured everything without any shocks. Today Rex and Damián are already walking calmly, thanks to the vocation of the vets who saved him.

Rex will be able to lead a normal life thanks to this operation and, while there is a chance that the tumor will come out again, it could always be stopped in time so that it does not grow to this size. “The tumor I had is not metastatic, but may breed in the same area in the future. Checking it, everything will be fine. Rex will be able to lead a completely normal life,” concludes Nacho.
