The wedding dress with 50,890 crystals was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the ‘world’s most crystal-embedded wedding dress’.
According to Guinness World Records on the 10th (local time), Italy’s famous wedding dress designer Michela Perriero at the wedding dress fashion show ‘Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni’ held in Milan, Italy on the 14th of last month. unveiled a wedding dress decorated with 50,890 crystals.
All of these crystals are products of the Austrian luxury brand ‘Swarovski’.
Made of transparent see-through material, this dress features a tight silhouette and a heart-shaped part.
Crystals are also decorated on both arms connected to the dress, and both arms and legs sparkle whenever they move, catching the eye.
It took about 4 months to make this dress. Perriero said that it took a long time to design, not simply to break the Guinness World Record by embedding a lot of crystals into the wedding dress, but to prepare to best realize his wedding dress philosophy. Perriero’s brand philosophy has always been to create unforgettable and quality dresses, but also a ‘work of art’.
After the design was finalized, Perriero worked with professional makers and a sewing team to create the dress in order to keep the crystal pattern spacing even.
Particular attention was paid to the foundation of the dress, especially since the body of the wedding dress has to support thousands of crystals. In addition, it took more than 200 hours to manually attach each crystal to the thin material of the dress that fits the body.
Previously, on January 29, 2011, a dress with 45,024 crystals was listed in the Guinness Book of Records, which was unveiled in Istanbul, Turkey by Turkish wedding dress design company ‘Ozden Guerinrik Moda Tazarim’. Perriero’s dress broke the previous record by a margin of 5866 crystals.
In accordance with Guinness World Records guidelines, all crystals used in products must be genuine with a certificate of quality and authenticity.
Pricing for Perriero’s crystal dress has not yet been released.
