More and more Internet users are closely following the life of the cat with dementia most popular on TikTok. The user @claragbelle He shares his pet’s daily life and touches his thousands of followers.

One of the most viral videos on the account was posted a few weeks ago. In it – which already accumulates more than 370 thousand reproductions – we see the protagonist of the profile mistaking a slipper for a child.

The cat crosses the kitchen of the house moving her shoes with her mouth as if she were a puppy she has to take care of. “Sweet cat with dementia always returns her kittens to the same place she fed them in 2006″ its owner wrote next to the video.

In another widely viewed clip from the account, the cat greets her caregiver by holding up one of her “imaginary kittens.”

“Elderly people with dementia often remember their children as babies or toddlers. They want to leave the nursing home to take care of themselves,” wrote one person, for example.

It’s so amazing how the brain works, which can remember things. I bet it’s because I really enjoyed being a mom,” added another.

A third reflected: “So, Are the effects of dementia the same as in humans? It’s so interesting, they’re mum again. I just know that one day I will have dementia”.

Attitudes like the cat with dementia on TikTok are clear signs of dementia in felines.

To the confusions like those of the cat in the video, the lack of hygiene, the acceleration of the heart rhythms or the day and night rhythmic variations can be added as symptoms.

Dementia can be contracted by cats of any breed and age, although it is clear that it increases with age. According to zooplus.es, a study has stated that half of cats over the age of 15 show signs of senile dementia.
