A nun’s body has been found in the United States and has been dubbed the ‘Miracle of Missouri’. Every day, tens of thousands of pilgrims visit the convent where the nun’s body is kept. Local media such as the New York Post reported on the 29th (local time).

According to reports, in 2019, Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster passed away at the age of 95 at the ‘Benedictines Convent’ of the Sisters of Benedictine Maria, located in the area spanning Missouri and Kansas in the Midwest of the United States. She was a Lancastrian nun and she was also the founder of the Benedictine Sisters.

In 2019, Sister Lancaster’s body was buried without any other embalming treatment after her death. Then, the Benedictine Sisters recently exhumed the body of a Lancastrian nun to move her body below the chapel foundation, according to her tradition. The Benedictine Sisters discovered the body of a Lancastrian nun preserved as a mummy while exhuming her body.

A nun belonging to the Benedictine Sisters said, “Since Sister Lancaster was buried in a wooden coffin without special embalming treatment, I naturally thought that only the bones remained. He was looking the same as when we buried him in the ground,” she said at the time. “The eyelashes, her hair, her eyebrows, her nose, and her lips all had a normal appearance,” the other nun said. “Also, his lips were smiling.”
