President Biden suddenly dropped Thursday during the graduation ceremony at the US Air Force Academy.
The White House said Thursday that the president tripped over a sandbag.
The president, the first octogenarian of the presidency of the United States, traveled Thursday from Washington DC to Falcon Stadium in Colorado for his graduation ceremony.
After giving a speech and handing over the last diploma to the cadets he turned to sit down but apparently he tripped over a sandbag and fell to his knees and fell sideways.
Soon after, the president, who was wearing a cap, tried to get up by himself, even if he had to be helped by an officer and two members of the US Secret Service.
At the moment it is not known whether the fall caused any injuries to the US president, although after standing up and pointing to the alleged bag with which he tripped, he remained on his feet for a few minutes until the end of the ceremony.
Biden’s downfall on Thursday comes about two years later who fell on the steps while boarding Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews.
After the fall of March 2021 in which Biden was filmed tripping on several steps, the White House said he was “100 percent fine” and attributed the trip to gusty winds.
“It’s very windy outside, very windy. I almost fell walking up the stairs. It’s 100 percent okay,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.
“Nothing but a misstep on the stairs,” added former White House communications director Kate Bedingfield.
