Identification through skull bone fragments… International outrage over video of kidnapping
Israeli authorities confirmed on the 7th that Shani Rukh, the woman who was kidnapped during the Al-Aqsa flood raid by the Palestinian armed political faction Hamas, has died.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 30th (local time) through the official social media
Previously, after Hamas’ Al-Aqsa flood raid on the 7th, a video was circulated online showing men who appeared to be Hamas members carrying a half-naked, unconscious woman on the back of a truck, putting her feet on it and cheering.
The woman’s identity was known as Shani Luke, a German-Israeli who visited a music festival near Gaza at the time. Her humiliating and cruel conditions as a civilian woman, not a combatant, aroused great outrage from the international community.
Afterwards, Shani Luke’s mother expressed hope for survival and appealed for help in a media interview, and some even rumored that he was alive. However, his death was eventually made official on this day, 23 days after the attack.
Citing a source, CNN reported that Israeli authorities identified Shani Luke by examining skull and bone fragments using DNA. The bone fragment in question is the petrous part of the temporal bone, which is the part of the skull close to the artery in the neck.
According to German media, Shani Luke’s mother, Ricarda Luke, said in an interview, “Unfortunately, I received the news that my daughter is no longer alive.” It appears that the family first heard the news of his death the day before, on the 20th.
Meanwhile, the German tabloid Bild cited an interview with Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog that day and reported that “barbaric and sadistic animals cut off his (Shani Rukh) head,” raising a beheading theory.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs lamented on this day, saying, “Shani, who was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists at a music festival, tortured, and forced to march through Gaza, experienced unimaginable horror,” adding, “It is very heartbreaking.”
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on his This shows the atrocities of Hamas. “This is terrorism,” he condemned.
