Former U.S. President Donald Trump testified in a Manhattan court in New York on the 6th (local time) and confronted the judge, calling his wealth-inflating fraud trial a “political witch hunt.”

Trump said one of the judges at the trial was biased against him and called the New York state attorney general, who prosecuted him, a “political disaster.” He boasted of his real estate business, which he said was “worth billions of dollars more than his net worth,” and he refuted accusations that he defrauded banks and insurance companies.

“This is not a case of fraud at all,” he said, declaring that New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat who prosecuted him, was “practicing fraud.”

Trump’s remarks that day were a scene in which he ignored court practice and made uniquely harsh remarks.

In the trial on this day, Judge Arthur Engoron pointed out several times that Trump should testify in detail, saying, “The trial is not a political event.”

Judge Engoron said, “There is no time to waste,” and told Trump’s lawyer, “Restrain him as much as possible.” “Or I will do it,” he warned.

Judge Engoron previously fined Trump $15,000 twice, saying he had violated an order prohibiting him from speaking about the trial in connection with accusing the deputy judge of being biased against him.

After the trial, Trump criticized Judge Engoron, saying, “He conducted the trial in a biased way and said I committed fraud without knowing me at all.”

Meanwhile, in his testimony today, Trump emphasized that he did not directly participate in the inflating of his assets as claimed by the prosecution.

“All I did was instruct the accountant to provide us with the things we needed to value the assets,” he said.
