Ukrainian security services intercepted a shocking call between a Russian soldier and his wife: According to the investigation, he would have given her permission to rape Ukrainian women during the raid.
In an audio, the voice of a woman was heard allowing her husband to sexually abuse Ukrainian women but clarified that she did not want to know and that she was using contraceptives. Radio Liberty identified them as Roman Bykovsky and Olga Bykovskaya.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) said it intercepted the call between the couple, who are said to be in their 20s, earlier this month in Ukraine’s Kherson region, according to RFE/RL.

Radio Liberty investigators, including journalist Mark Krutov, discovered that the two phone numbers were linked to two accounts on the Russian social network VKontakte owned by 27-year-old Roman Bykovsky and of his wife Olga Bykovskaya, both of whom are from Orel in Russia.
Radio Liberty reporters tracked down the phone involved in the call. Roman’s account was closed to the public, but journalists found him shown in photos uploaded by one of his friends.
They learned that Roman was now part of Russia’s 108th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment, a unit known for its involvement in the annexation of Crimea in 2014. They also learned that the couple moved to Crimea in 2018.
Olga’s account was open until it was deleted on April 13.
The man, who was contacted by reporters, denied it was his voice on audio, but investigators said his voice matched. In fact, in the last hours he was arrested and charged with these aberrant crimes.
