The Guardian reported this, citing interviews with sources and retired officials. Israel is using the AI target creation platform “the Gospel” when attacking the Gaza Strip.

It is not known exactly what type of data is contained in the gospel, but experts estimate that information obtained by monitoring drone footage, intercepted communications, surveillance data, and individual or large group movements was entered.

The IDF operates the gospel through the Target Management Department within the Intelligence Bureau.

In particular, the IDF identified more than 12,000 targets in the Gaza Strip in early November through the Gospel.

“We work without compromise in defining who is the enemy and what is the enemy,” said one official, explaining the targeting process. “Hamas operatives will not be immune, no matter where they are hiding.”

The IDF states on its website that, in this war, it is “producing targets at a rapid pace” through the AI-based system ‘Habsora (Gospel).’

However, there are voices from experts who are skeptical about this.

A lawyer who advises governments on AI extradition laws who spoke to the Guardian said there was “no empirical evidence” to support these claims.

Richard Moyes, a researcher at Article 36, which campaigns to reduce weapons damage, also expressed skepticism, saying, “Look at the physical impact of the Gaza Strip.”

He pointed out that the city is under widespread air raids with heavy weapons and that claims about the accuracy of the force have not been proven.
