In the last few hours, a photo of a group of students hiding on top of a building in the middle of a shooting in Prague, Czech Republic, has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter).
Before he was killed, the killer killed 10 people and injured dozens, Czech police said.
“Eleven dead including the attacker, 9 seriously injured, 5-6 moderately serious injured, up to 10 lightly injured. The numbers can still change,” they said. “The killer has been eliminated,” police said online.
The shooting began in a school on Jan Palach Square. According to the person who shared the photo of the students, the epicenter of the chaos was at Charles University.
Police did not provide details on the victims or the circumstances of Thursday’s shooting in the Czech capital.
Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakusan confirmed on Czech public television that the person who opened fire had died.
The accident occurred at the Faculty of Philosophy, located in Jan Palach square. Authorities said the entire square and surrounding areas were closed off.
