The Covid-19 pandemic has had a strong impact on some demographic indicators in Latin America. One of them was that the Life expectancy at birth it was reduced in three yearsmaking the region the most affected in the world.
While in 2019, before the pandemic, the average life expectancy in the region was 75.1 years, in 2021, when the application of vaccines began to control the situation, had dropped to 72.1 years.

Followed by Antigua and Barbuda (78.5), Barbados (77.6), Costa Rica (77), Panama (76.2), Uruguay and Argentina (75.4), the latter countries slightly below the regional average. Followed by Granada (74.9), Aruba (74.6), Nicaragua (73.8), Ecuador and Cuba (73.7).

According to the UN, it is Monaco (87), Japan (84.95)Liechtenstein (84.87), Switzerland (84.38), Singapore (84.27), Italy (84.2), Vatican City and South Korea (84.1) and Spain (84).
Also at the top of this ranking are the Chinese regions of Hong Kong and Macau, where their inhabitants can live up to 85 years.
