This is a debate that has been present among scientists for decades What is the limit between planet Earth and space. According to scientists and astronomers, it is difficult to determine exactly where the boundary with the cosmos is, since the Earth’s atmosphere has a diffuse and extensive envelope of gas.

The International Aeronautics Federation in the sixties established an imaginary border definitively separate the two environments. This border has been named Karman line and is located approximately 100 kilometers above sea level.

Its name is in honor of the Hungarian-American physicist Theodore Kármán de Szőllőskislak, recognized for his great contributions in the field of aeronautics and astronautics.

Where does the earth end and space begin?

Experts They suggested that the The limit between Earth and space is 30 kilometers above the surface. up to more than 1.6 million kilometers away.

Several scientists and experts have decided to do so delimiting it below the Kármán line, which is based on physical realityand marks an approximate height at which traditional aircraft cannot fly.

Anything that travels beyond this border needs a propulsion system which may be independent of the lift generated by the Earth’s atmosphere. Basically this line is where the physical laws of the Earth change.

Kármán Line, the border between Earth and space.

It’s a officially established but imaginary limit, which is 100 kilometers from the surface within the thermosphere which is the middle layer with an atonement of 80 to 700 kilometers.

This boundary is used to separate and describe an area where the density of circulating air is not sufficient for airplanes or spacecraft moving through the air with the help of aerodynamic wings.

All objects greater than 100 kilometersof the Kármán line satellites since they can orbit around the Planet.
